My Christmas Decor Inspiration & Planning
Due to the distance between my current home in Oregon and family in Illinois, it has been 5 YEARS since I have been able to have a Christmas with my parents and siblings. This year that all changes! I am ecstatic to say that my family is coming to me for Christmas!! In order to channel all this excitement, I have decided that my house needs to look (partly) like we hired Buddy the Elf to help decorate!
When you look at the way that my house is laid out, it has two different "feels". The upstairs is a very clean and put-together with mostly grey, white and marble accents. And, the downstairs is my husband's "Man Cave". This floor features more deep grays, cool browns with refurbished wood and leather accents.
The two aesthetics allowed me to create a more classic Christmas look in the Man Den and a more modern/ clean pallet upstairs.

The main takeaways from the upstairs inspiration images:
Need to flock my Christmas tree
Stay within a color pallet of blush, silvers, soft gold's, and white.
Find natural looking items such as soft woods (birch wood or lighter colored timber), light greens (either flocked or grey - green garland) and whimsical accessories (ribbons, candles, soft textured boxes, etc).

Here are the main takeaways from the Man Den inspiration images:
Keep it feeling more classic and rustic
My husband LOVES items like nutcrackers and figurines. So figure out a tasteful way to incorporate those items into a decor.
Stick to rich reds, deep greens, true gold
Play with accents of plaid, knits, metals, fur and wood.
